Poverty/Energy Bills Help
We all need heating, lighting and water. Are you finding it difficult to pay for these services or maybe you are already in arrears on these bills? Maybe you have other debts that are impacting on your ability to pay for these services?
RHL offers a free of charge service that helps people cope with energy bill problems. We offer help and advice on debt and how to manage your bills; we can act as an intermediary in disputes with energy companies and we are able to assist with general advice such as the correct tariffs for your circumstances.
We also provide help by identifying possible sources of financial help - for example, you may be able to apply for a grant to reduce or clear energy and/or water debts. Grants are available from a number of energy and water suppliers through a trust fund administered by Charis Grants: http://charisgrants.com We can help you determine whether you are eligible for the grants and, if applicable, assist with the application. You can book a one to one session by ringing 01252 362660. We can meet in various community locations. The advisor will try and arrange a location that is convenient for both parties. We also attend Aldershot and Farnborough Citizens Advice Bureaux and these appointments will need to be made directly via the Bureaux.

Debt Prevention:
We also offer help and advice regarding the prevention of fuel/energy debt. This may take the form of presentations to groups of people, one to one meetings or general advice via leaflets, email and telephone. We are happy to attend community events and local neighbourhood meetings to offer general advice to avoid getting into debt. We will also address housing providers, companies and individuals. Your local council and Hampshire County Council are working together to bring you Insulate Hampshire. This offers FREE cavity wall insulation and FREE loft insulation to Hampshire homeowners and privately renting tenants (with landlords permission) where there is less than 60mm (2.5 inches) of loft insulation & subject to excess meterage charges.
