CHAIR TO THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Unremunerated
A replacement chair is sought to lead the volunteer Board of Directors of Rushmoor Healthy Living (RHL) and support the Chief Executive in taking RHL to its next level of development. These are exciting times for this organisation as it expands its operations and develops its social enterprise activities to become financially self sustainable. It has also just become one of only six Healthy Living Centres in the UK to be accepted onto the Big Lottery’s Sustainability Project and receive individual professional support to achieve this goal.
RHL seeks a person with a proven track record in leadership and management in the private, voluntary or public sectors, plus the ability to chair meetings and lead the Board whilst developing a good working relationship with the Chief Executive. With the Board, the Chair needs to be able to ensure that RHL is well run according to lawful and ethical standards and deliver the charitable outcomes for which it was set up.
The time commitment is a minimum of 2 days a month, divided between direct involvement with activities, chairing meetings and informal contact with other Trustees and the CE, and representing the organisation externally.
You will be IT literate, enthusiastic, creative and a strategic thinker with strong organisational and interpersonal skills. Experience of working with the local community and some knowledge of health related issues would also be useful.
Closing Date: 15th August 2008
