Kids are Happy Kids
Fit 4 Life
Following previous success of Fit 4 life in secondary
schools we are now giving primary school children the opportunity to make
changes to their physical activity and eating habits in order to lead
a healthier lifestyle.
Fit 4 life sessions take place before, during and after school offering
a mixture of one to one and group sessions. A one to one session with
a personal trainer enables children to learn about the benefits of physical
activity, how to design healthier lunchboxes/meals at home and how families
can work together to make beneficial changes to their lifestyles. Children
will take part in group sessions before school where various fun activities
such as team games, aerobics, and themed based sessions will be on offer.
The aim of the group sessions is to prepare the children to be alert and
bright for the school day ahead and the chance to interact with other
year groups.
Active Lifestyles
Exercise sessions after school are running in conjunction with the Active
Lifestyle programme. Active lifestyle programme aims to target children
who are participating in two hours or less of PE and sport a week with
a vision of increasing this to at least an extra hour. These sessions
are not only aimed at the ‘Fit 4 lifers’ at each school but
also pupils who want to take part in more physical activity, but in a
non-competitive environment. Each school has been given a bag of equipment
which the sessions are based around.
Benefits of Fit 4 life:
• aimed at 8 to 11 year olds
• make friends in different year groups
• have access to your very own friendly personal trainer
• improve your general fitness – have more energy to run around
for longer
• make changes for yourself and your family to lead a healthier
lifestyle
• build up your confidence to perhaps join a local sports team or
group
Most importantly..... HAVE FUN – taking part in lots of different
activities and games
