Chi Ball
This gentle exercise class combines Tai Chi, Yoga, and Pilates in a unique holistic concept together with the philosophies of traditional Chinese medicine, gentle self awareness and deep relaxation. Using a small hand held aroma infused ball, you will go on a journey through the five elements of Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal and Water. Changing with the seasons, the class will focus on the different elements throughout the year.
What is the class like?
The first part of the class consists of Tai Chi-based movements which are performed standing and holding a small ball. You will start to relax and to stretch your muscles at the same time.
Later in the class, depending upon the season, you will concentrate on Yoga or Pilates exercises. Some of the movements are floor-based, but if you are not able to lie on the floor you can sit in a chair for these exercises. The exercises are gentle but powerful, and are particularly good for improving your core stability.
Towards the end of the session there is an extended guided relaxation or meditation.
What should I bring to class and what should I wear?
Please wear comfortable clothing suitable for movement. All equipment is supplied. |
