| Ballet
& Contemporary Dance
This class combines classical ballet and contemporary dance. It focuses
on dancing technique, with moves designed to improve strength and flexibility.
We hope that the class will stimulate your creativity and give you a great
sense of enjoyment.
What is the class like?
The class starts with a warm up to music with simple stretching exercises,
and there is a cool down and stretch at the end. It lasts an hour.
This class focuses on your dancing technique, combining classical ballet
and contemporary dance, which includes a mix of jazz, Latin and other
styles.
The moves are controlled and the class feels gentle and relaxed.
What should I bring to class and what should I wear?
If you already have ballet or jazz shoes, please wear them.
If you don’t already have them, please don’t buy special
shoes before trying out the class to see whether you enjoy it. If you
decide to continue, however, you will probably want to wear proper footwear,
but our instructor can advise you at class on the best sort of shoe to
buy.
You do not need to bring anything else with you, although you may feel
that you would like to bring a bottle of water.
Wear comfortable clothes that you can move well in – please no
skirts! If you are not wearing ballet or jazz shoes, please wear flat
shoes with a fairly smooth sole – high heels are not suitable.
